THE WORD OF GOD (Kalimatullah)

    Jesus is also called "His word" in Surah 4:171, meaning the Word of God. In Surah 3:45 we also read that the angels said to Mary "Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a word from Him, whose name is the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary". More than once in the Qur'an, therefore, Jesus is called God's Word. He is also called the Word of God in the Bible.

"Lo! the likeness of Jesus with Allah is as the likeness of Adam, He created him from dust, then He said unto him, Be! and he is". (Surah 3:59)

Muslims - What does the Qur'an say about Isa (Jesus)?

When the angels said, 'O Mary, ALLAH gives thee glad tidings of a son through a word from HIM; his name shall be the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, honoured in this world and in the next, and of those who are granted nearness to God;

God Can Qualify The Disqualified

Psalm 103:4 4who [the Lord] redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,

Four women are mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus. (Matthew 1:1–16) Interestingly, they are not Sarah, Rebekah, Leah or Rachel, wives of the patriarchs of the Old Testament. Instead, they are Tamar, Rahab, Ruth and Bathsheba, women who had morally questionable backgrounds. Tamar resorted to deception and prostitution to produce children through her father-in-law. Yet, it was from her line, the tribe of Judah, that the Messiah came. (Genesis 38) Rahab was a Gentile and a prostitute in Jericho, who became a believer in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. (Joshua 2:1–21) She also became the mother of Boaz, who married Ruth. (Ruth 4:13) Ruth was morally upright. But as a Moabitess, she was a Gentile and therefore considered unclean. Yet, she became the grandmother of David (Ruth 4:13–17), whom the Jews regard as their greatest king. Bathsheba committed adultery with David. (2 Samuel 11:4) Later, she gave birth to King Solomon (2 Samuel 12:24), from whose royal line Jesus descended. So what is God saying to us here? He is saying that He is greater than our sins — where sin abounds, His grace abounds much more. (Romans 5:20) His grace is greater than our sins, so that even when the world disqualifies us, He can qualify us to receive His blessings! God is also saying that He is a God of many chances. These women’s stories show us that even when our troubles are of our own making, they are neither final nor fatal. When we turn to Him, He will turn our situations around until we see His glory upon us! Finally, God is saying that He is a God of supernatural positioning. Even when all our earthly connections are gone, the moment we turn to Him, He will find ways to turn our captivity into blessings. My friend, don’t look at your natural circumstances and be discouraged. Trust the One “who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies”. Trust Him who qualifies the disqualified!

Encouraging others.

We all have different talents and gifting.  However, praying for someone, being there for a friend, loving on someone does not require you to have a gifting. Encouraging someone on a daily basis will help yourself to be encourage too. I remember hearing my pastor say, if you are depress, feeling sad, pitying yourself, the best way to to get yourself out of that hole is to encourage others orbless them.

Encouraging others gives us God’s peace, joy and blessings. We put others first and our self last. It helps us to become a better student, mom, wife, friend, sister, or brother. I wanted to share a few basic ways you can be an encourager and have a servant’s heart as well! What a blessing right? (Hope you’re smiling!) And watch how it will transform your life!

1. If you see a need, immediately offer to pray for them. Don’t say, “I’ll pray for you.” Pray for them right away. You’ll forget.

2. If you see someone is hurting offer to be a friend, even if you don’t know them too well. Be a friend and listen. That’s it. Over facebook, email, phone or in person.

3. Anytime you hear something about someone sick, someone lost a mother or father or anyone, etc, get a card and write them a note. Add a little book or something nice to make them smile. (Yes do it if you DON’T know them)  Oh what a joy that is!!

4. Message and email friends/family and tell them you are thinking of them, that you love them, praying for them. Do it frequently. Not month or yearly! 

5. Someone is sick? Make a nice meal for them and drop it off with a note. Don’t have time to do that? Pick up fruits and some flowers and a card. It’s the heart that counts and trust me they will LOVE it!

6. Offer to take people out for coffee or just to meet up. Nothing fancy. Ask them how they’re doing, what they’ve been up to, etc.. Listen to them and offer any godly wisdom if needed. Do it with friends more often.

7. When you encourage always provide scriptures. This bring healing to the soul. It will reinforce what God wants to tell or show them.

Allow God to use you. Have fun with it. Don’t think too much about what you need to do. Have a servant’s heart and serve. 

God’s Promises As You Step Out Into the World Today

50 things God promises you as you step out into the world today (a very partial list):

He will go with you, sustain you, and strengthen you. (Psalm 89:21, 22)

You are His beloved, He believes in you. (Rom. 1:7)

He will be your confidence. (Prov. 3:21, 26)

Will you be applying God’s promises to your life today, everyday?

Time management – Balanced life?

If there was one thing I can say about time management, I’d say most stink at it! However, if Jesus was at your home today, would you put everything aside in order to spend time with Him? Yes? Is that because you can see him personally and visibly? I know I surely would!

Why would it be any different now?

Our God is an orderly God.  He is not messy. He is not all over the place. He is not running out the door last minute and telling you to hold onto your prayers until He gets back in to listen to them, and if He did, how would you feel? I’d feel hurt that He’s not taking the time to be with me when I want to be with Him.

We all have to understand that with a balanced life we will all feel at peace because He is in control. I mean, take the time in the morning to sit down, pray, sing, read, study the bible and pray some more. You have a total of 24 hours to do everything! Let’s put some time aside to be with Him.

Morning quiet time should be when you get up before everyone gets up. You set the tone for the day.

Here are a list of things to consider:

1. Learn to say no when it comes to other commitments. Your family comes first. If you are not organized at home, then you will not be organized with any other commitments and that includes serving in a church. Sloppy life = sloppy faith.

2. Set a schedule. Write it down if you have to in 30 minutes increment. This would also include time on the internet. (It’s what I do!) If you need to, use a kitchen timer.
Example: 730am read to daughter, 8am get daughter dress for school, 9am pick up around the home.

3. Read a book. Reading help ease stress. Read a devotional book. It’ll encourage you. There are also time management books.

4. Take time to do a hobby. You also need to enjoy life.

5. Plan your evenings wisely. They are the most wasted time.

6. Stay home more. DO things at home.

7. Delegate tasks if need to.

Remember, we need to be examples and make use of our time wisely. Our God wants us to use our time wisely. Not so much busy, but productive with things that are prioritized.
There are just some suggestions and it’s what I do here at home.

Unanswered Prayers

There are things we’ll never know in this lifetime. Prayer is not meant to leave you wondering. We make request to the Heavenly Father just like any child would with their earthly father. God answers all prayers and usually they are yes, no, or wait. We all know this.

Why does God answer no when we know that we are ‘clean’ before Him?

1. We  Must Seek God

God wants us to seek Him more than any else. He wants our undivided attention, our heart, soul and mind. He wants us to be consumed with Him. Unfortunately, we look to our needs and wants and forget what God is trying to do in and through us. God will withhold answers to prayer if we are not seeking His face.

2. We Must Trust Him

God withhold answers so we learn to trust Him. If He gave us everything we wanted, there’s no fun in that, is there?  And faith, we NEED faith! (Heb. 11:6) Trust teaches us a valuable lesson, we are not to take Him for granted. God does not withhold answers to taunt us or toy with our emotions. He teaches us to persist in prayer, keep our eyes on Him, and reject our feelings. We are to rely on His promises and not what we see and feel. Let God prove Himself faithful in every situation and it’ll become easier to trust Him.

3. He Is Preparing Us

Another reason is that He is in the process of preparing us. If God had answered all my prayers according to my timing, I would have missed His best. Much of what we pray for is in the will of God, but our timing is off. God is waiting for us to grow spiritually in some areas before He’ll give us the spiritual and materials blessings.

4. Sometime God Has Something Better

God will withhold answers because something better is in store. It may be more than we deserve, more than we ask for and more than we expect.
These are the four reasons God withholds a blessing or answer when the condition of our hearts is not the deciding factor. God’s perspective encompasses more than ours.

Being grateful for the small things in life has really kept me going each day. I am still waiting on God, it’s only been a year! In due time, I know God will answer. There is no time lost in waiting, if you are waiting on the Lord

Meditating On The Word of God

Meditating on the Word brings revelation, clear direction and gives us wisdom when we are in sticky situations. It brings about an increased awareness in what He wants to say and do in our lives. Our discernment sharpens and we begin to think like Him. What used to be gray will now be in black and white. Do you meditate? Do you seek His wisdom? Do you need answers? Start with the Word.

How do I meditate?

1. Find a place in the home, a quiet place that you’ll go to every time you meet with God. It does not need to be fancy but it needs to peaceful and quiet.

2. Grab the bible and simply ask the Lord where should you go?  It may be an entire book, a chapter, or just one verse that you opened up to. Whatever it is be sure to read it.

3. Write it out and date it.

But this delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the trivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. -Psalm 1:3

And no matter how crazy our storm is, the more we meditate we’ll learn to remain in His presence and have a quiet spirit.
Things I need to do during meditation.

1.  Pray that God will clean and purify you. Repent of all sins.
Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

2.  Prayer:  Lord, I pray that you’ll give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Having the eyes of my heart enlightened that I may know what is the hope to which You have called me, what are the riches of Your glorious inheritance. and what is immeasurable greatness of Your power toward me who believe according to the working of Your great might. Amen (Ephesian 1:17-19)

3. With the scripture, book, or chapter that was given to you, ask ”Lord, what are you trying to reveal to me?”

4.Who is it that I need to pray for? How can I pray for them?

Remember that meditation is not just about memorizing the Word.  I’ve listed a few reasons above why we need to meditate. If we want clarity and direction we need to learn to be sensitive to the Spirit. Meditation will help you with this. ”I can’t hear Him or I don’t know what to do?” Why not go to the Word, open your bible and meditate, it’ll bring stillness to your soul.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
