On this day, in 1536 William Tyndale was killed by the Roman Catholic Church for translating the Bible into English.

He was executed by strangulation and then burned at the stake. His famous last words were "Lord, open the king of England's eyes".
These 7 words were very prophetic because in 1604 King James of England commissioned to translate the Bible into English. Which we still use today, the King James Version.
We take Bible translations for granted today, but to get what we have now many literally had shed their blood for our benefit. Let's remember their works of love.
May be an illustration of standing
